VAT Manager | Schiphol (Hybrid)
Position
At the office in Schiphol or the position has become vacant for a VAT Manager. The position is part of the Global Tax & Customs team and will report to the EMEA VAT Advisory lead based in France. The VAT Manager will be mainly responsible for advising the business on complex day-to-day VAT questions in the start The Netherlands and Belgium and in time this can be expanded.
More specifically the responsibilities and activities include:
- Advise on complex indirect tax matters, mainly on VAT matters applicable to a day-to-day transaction of the businesses;
- Participate in global business projects and coordinate their respective implementation in the designated country, consulting on system changes, business reorganizations & changes and projects such as e-invoicing, supporting in system updates;
- Ability to handle multiple countries, Belgium, and Netherlands, but if possible or in the future Denmark, Finland, Luxemburg, and Sweden as well;
- Willing to assist tax technology people (SAP implementation), open to dashboard review,
- Able to help and review the VAT compliance team and do data analyses;
- Work together within Cargill with different stakeholders, Legal, finance, business and external advisors and tax authorities;
Candidate
We are looking for a candidate with a master degree in Tax Law or Fiscal Economics and a minimum of 7 years of experience in VAT, capable of managing VAT across multiple countries. Experience with CTCP (for Belgium) and Horizontal monitoring (for NL) experience , e-invoicing knowledge for Belgium is considered a plus. Some knowledge on SAP is also a plus.
You have strong communication skills (able to work with various stakeholders, commercial, legal, supply chain, direct tax colleagues. You can independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff. Strong autonomy and strategic alignment with the team.
