The Tax Reporting & Compliance Manager based in Amsterdam is part of the direct Tax Accounting and Compliance team with a strong connect to the Trafigura Tax Department. You will also connect with Tax Accounting and Compliance centres in Geneva, Mumbai and Montevideo. This means this is a pivoting role and bringing together the data, tax planning and managing Tax Compliance, Tax Accounting and Reporting for multiple Trafigura entities in various jurisdictions.

The Tax Accounting and Reporting Manager is responsible for:

  • You need to do the hands-on first review and preparation of the group’s financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis for current, deferred and uncertain tax positions.
  • Enhance the review and preparation process, through controls and pro-actively make actionable recommendations for further enhancements and synergies for the preparation and timely completion of tax returns and financial statements.
  • Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of an international portfolio of corporate income tax returns (incl. Dutch). Develop and train the group’s tax compliance support team.
  • Preparation of relevant tax disclosures included in the Annual Report and year end package.
  • Coordinate/lead external tax audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting and finance, legal, and operations, to ensure tax compliance and accounting implications of business decisions are addressed and get resolved.
  • Monitor and communicate future possible automation/system technology opportunities around tax accounting and reporting.
  • Manage Transfer Pricing compliance and manage TP documentation is correct and up-to date, incl. CbcR and Masterfile.
  • Support with reporting obligations under DAC6 and Pillar 2.

  • Master in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in Tax Accounting and Reporting and Tax Compliance at a consultancy firm or in-house.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in IFRS, Local GAAP or US GAAP.
  • Strong Communication (verbal and written skills), fluent in business English and Dutch (as you will need to be able to communicate with the Dutch Tax Authorities.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
