Tax Manager | Hoofddorp


At the head office in Hoofddorp the position of Tax Manager will become available. The Tax Manager is part of the tax department and reports to the Head of Tax, who reports to the CFO. The tax department consists of 3 persons: the Head of Tax, the Tax Manager and the Tax Reporting Manager. Since SHV Energy is a SHV company, there is frequent contact between the tax department of SHV Energy and the tax departments of SHV Holdings and other SHV Group companies and all SHV tax colleagues meet regularly.

The Tax Manager will primarily be responsible for the Dutch and international tax issues and entities. You will work closely together with the tax team and the various stakeholders within SHV Energy (e.g. from Legal, Treasury and Finance departments). You will support the business on day-to-day tax questions with respect to international corporate income tax, withholding tax and to a lesser extent support on VAT and wage tax. Various other projects will also be part of the position, depending on available time and interests. The main responsibilities and activities include amongst others:

  • Identify risks and address technical matters in relation to corporate tax for SHV Energy Head Office and its Business Units worldwide;
  • Provide (inter-)national CIT advise and be a sparring partner to the Business Units and support in restructurings, acquisitions, divestments, etc.;
  • Oversight role with respect to other countries and supporting in tax audits, analyses and project management;
  • Further develop, execute and implement the global transfer pricing policy and ensuring proper pricing and Transfer Pricing documentation for the group is in place;
  • Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring of tax policies, tax control framework, models and documentation;
  • Monitor international Tax law changes and assess impact thereof on the business;
  • Monitor the group structure;
  • Provide tax advice and support to the Management Board;
  • Maintain a close relationship and strong cooperation with finance departments, tax authorities and external tax advisors;
  • Provide input to the Tax Reporting Manager on Pillar 2, CbCR, the CIT return and other compliance related matters;
  • Support and manage other diverse tax projects on an ad hoc basis.


The ideal candidate has a university degree in taxation and has 7-12 years of (international) experience as consultant or in-house tax adviser. You are highly analytical and motivated to grow as a tax expert. You enjoy being part of a dedicated team with a hands-on mentality, and who dares to be critical. You are a pleasant and cooperative team player, able to be a sparring partner to the rest of the team and other stakeholders and able to run projects independently. You can meet deadlines and you are highly organized. You are fluent in English and Dutch. Possibility for hybrid working (3 days at the office, 2 days from home).
