Tax Manager | Rotterdam


In the Rotterdam office, a newly created role has become available for a Tax Manager. He/she will support International Tax Management in Rotterdam. He/she will bear responsibility for developing, evaluating and implementing corporate income tax planning strategies, considering other opportunities, risks and economics of the business. Reviewing the tax impacts of (intercompany) operations performed by the Braskem entities globally with respect to trading, financing, services, debit/credit notes and corporate restructurings. More specifically the tasks and responsibilities will be amongst others:

  • Proactively advising on international corporate income tax and withholding tax issues;
  • Advising on corporate restructurings and transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, investments and divestments worldwide;
  • Perform the tax analysis of new business operations and international expansion plans;
  • Analyses, review and assure Transfer Pricing in in line with intercompany business operations;
  • Perform the activities of the Tax Control project, ensuring that unfavorable direct tax risks of the Braskem group are minimized. Contribute to the tax awareness and activities within the group of companies;
  • Assisting in the development, monitoring and documenting of the transfer pricing policies for the various intra-group transactions and services, contribute to BEPS regulation compliance, including review Master file, Local file and Country by Country reporting;
  • Ensure that tax planning initiatives are translated by Rotterdam SSC team into CIT returns and other compliance obligations;
  • Effectively manage relationships with outside tax advisors, internal and external auditors, and tax authorities;
  • Support the operations as well as tax, finance and legal departments with day-to-day questions;
  • Support group and statutory audit processes from a tax perspective;
  • Review and monitor regional tax positions.

  • University degree in Tax Law or Fiscal Economics;
  • 4-6 years of experience with international corporate income tax gained at a tax advisory firm or in-house. Dutch CIT work experience is essential;
  • Affinity with transfer pricing;
  • Team player, service minded, able to work independently. Pro-active, down-to-earth attitude, analytically strong, while remaining practical and result oriented;
  • Fluent in English. Dutch and Portuguese are a plus;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Willingness to travel, intercontinental and continental Europe;
  • Ability to multi-task, ability to adapt to changing priorities.
