Tax Accounting Lead | Delft


At the Global Headquarters of Exact in Delft, The Netherlands, a position will become vacant for the Tax Accounting Lead as the current Tax Accounting Lead will leave the nest after 10 years of service. The Tax Accounting Lead will report hierarchically into the Tax Director. Being part of a small Tax team you will work closely with the new Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager and the experienced Tax Director. The responsibility of the Tax Accounting Lead will be to compile and report (both internally and externally) the company’s consolidated tax position in accordance with IFRS standards. You will also be in charge of the corporate tax obligations of the Exact group in the Netherlands.


More specifically the tasks and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Responsible for the preparation of the company’s consolidated tax position (IFRS and fiscal) on quarterly basis, and align with the external reporting team responsible for the consolidated financial accounts;
  • Responsible for the preparation of tax packs for all legal entities (quarterly and annually) in alignment with external advisors where required and with the help of finance teams;
  • The point of contact for external auditors regarding tax accounting matters;
  • In charge of the preparation of the Dutch fiscal unity tax return, coordinating this with our third-party compliance provider;
  • Responsible for monitoring our corporate income taxes globally including the timely (pre)payment;
  • In full control of our tax transactions and balances both at consolidated and at individual level. You will have a deep understanding of all transactions recorded to various tax accounts, both IFRS and fiscal;
  • Providing guidance relating to record tax entries;
  • Maintaining and improving the processes we have within the tax function as part of our policies or tax risk management;
  • Bringing the tax-team to the next level of automation by making use of the BI and available data within the Exact organization;
  • Assist the Group tax Director with various activities such as transfer pricing calculations/instructions and the company’s budgeting and long-term forecasting.

You have a relevant degree and you have 10+ years of experience. Knowledge of IFRS and tax in general and IAS12 specifically are important. Relevant In-house experience is considered a plus. You will need to have a flexible mindset to be able to cope with ever changing situations, in addition to a hands-on mentality.

Furthermore you have / are:

  • To be software-savvy, proficient in Excel and (quickly) grasp ERP systems. You have an interest in front-end reporting tooling, such as Power BI;
  • Excellent understanding of business needs and an outcome-focused approach;
  • A teamplayer with excellent stakeholder management skills;
  • A strive for continuous improvement and understand the importance of documenting;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (speaking and writing).
