Senior Tax Manager | Rotterdam
Position
At the corporate head office based in Rotterdam the position for Senior Tax Manager will become vacant. The Senior Tax Manager will be a member of the tax team consisting of 5 people and reports to the Head of Tax. She/he will be responsible and primary focal point for all tax issues regarding the Dredging business. A significant part of work will be advising on tenders en executing the tax structure after the tender is won. You will also support on day-to-day tax issues and support in developing, executing and implementation of the overall tax strategy and implement a solid Tax Control Framework.
More specifically the main activities and responsibilities include:
- Initiating tax planning and tax structuring surrounding the dredging projects and activities;
- Support the tender teams on the various tax issues surrounding the projects;
- Reviewing contracts with clients and subcontractors to assess tax issues and risks and provide input thereon to the tender team;
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining transfer pricing policies;
- Supporting tax controversy and litigation matters, including preparing documentation, liaising with external advisors, and managing interaction with tax authorities during disputes
- Further develop and implement the tax control framework;
- Making sure there is tax compliancy with (foreign) tax systems and liaising thereto with internal stakeholders, external consultants, tax authorities, clients, subcontractors and other contractual counterparts;
- Keeping abreast of global tax developments and the impact thereof on Van Oord.
Candidate
- Dutch Master in Fiscal Economics or Tax Law.
- 8+ years’ experience in various international corporate tax roles gained at the Big4 /international consulting firm and at least some years in a multinational corporation preferably in a similar industry.
- In-depth knowledge of international tax regulations, corporate income tax, Withholding tax and (to a lesser extent) VAT and payroll tax.
- Strong ability to translate complex tax knowledge into practical advice.
- You have a pragmatic, and cooperative mindset and you can manage and build solid relationships with the various internal stakeholders.
- Cross-cultural collaboration and change management as soft skills is needed
- Other key words are persuasiveness, ambitious, highly motivated, business sense, high level of responsiveness and a hands-on mentality.
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both verbal and written. Other languages are preferred.
- Flexibility to occasionally travel for work and work outside office hours due to time zone differences.
