Senior International Tax Manager
GECAS | Amsterdam, Dublin or Shannon
Position
At GECAS the position has become available for a Senior International Tax Manager who can be based either in Amsterdam, Dublin or Shannon. You will be part of the deal team, discussing with GECAS customers tax matters of aircraft, helicopter and engine leasing, sale and purchase of aircraft, helicopters and engines. You will be responsible for international tax issues of the deal such as local withholding tax, application of tax treaties, permanent establishment exposure and basic US international tax issues. More specifically the responsibilities include:
- Responsible for reviewing deal documentation (LOI, lease agreements and approval papers etc.) to include the appropriate tax provisions.
- Responsible for transaction review planning, structuring, and implementation
- Review, draft and negotiation of deal documents, tax aspects of LOI’s, contracts, tax indemnity agreements
- Provides support to deal teams and GECAS group on the tax aspects of pending transactions, structuring of deals and portfolio issues
- Reviews tax aspects of models developed by deal teams
- Monitor the on-going business operations to ensure that all tax requirements are satisfied
- Analyze withholding tax and other local country tax issues relating to non-US deals
- Complete and sign off on deal approval papers
- Tax advisor on structured transactions such as bulk sales of assets and securitizations, coordinate transfer tax on deliveries (aircraft/engine)
- Support the business teams on other deal related or tax related matters
- Identify US international tax issues
Candidate
- A University degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics
- Preferably 10+ years of strong international tax experience in major accounting firm, law firm, or multinational company
- Experience with international transactions and deals
- Excellent communications skills to communicate complex tax issues, opportunities, and risks to non-tax experts in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work cross functionally
- Prior leadership experience
- Ability to partner effectively with business management, legal, and finance personnel
- Must be willing to travel occasionally sometimes on short notice (up to 10% of the time)
- This job can be performed in either the office in Shannon, Dublin or Amsterdam
