Global Tax Manager | Schiedam

Position

At the corporate head office based in Schiedam the new position for a Global Tax Manager has arisen to strengthen the team. He/she will be part of the tax team consisting of 7 tax professionals and you will report to the Head of Tax. The Global Tax Manager will be responsible for Tax Planning and Tax Management but will also be involved in managing tax accounting and tax compliance. The role focusses on direct tax, but it is a generalist tax role overseeing all tax aspects Mammoet is facing on a day- to- day basis.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Advising the business on a wide variety of tax matters, main focus is on direct tax matters and transfer pricing including, but it entails a wider selection of issues:
    • corporate income tax, restructuring, financing, M&A, day-to-day tax advisory,
    • permanent establishments
    • transfer pricing
    • withholding tax,
    • cost avoidance and cash flow savings initiatives,
    • tax audits and dispute resolution,
    • tax risk management and control,
  • Supporting the Regional Tax Managers in various tax issues and projects and taking the lead and initiative to centralize and unify Transfer Pricing.
  • Providing input to the Tax Accountant for the monthly and annual tax reporting process as well as the Dutch corporate income tax return;
  • Creating awareness and training of regional and local financial controllers in respect of tax;
  • Maintaining a close relationship and strong cooperation between the finance and tax departments in the Netherlands and other Mammoet offices globally;
  • Keeping abreast of possible changes in laws and regulations and the impact thereof on the organization;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the tax department, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and implement best practices.

Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics or a related field
  • At least 5 years of broad tax experience, with an appetite for tax accounting and compliance
  • Potential to develop and progress into a more senior role
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Good collaboration skills with peers, the business and senior level executives
  • Proven ability to manage compliance with internal and external regulations and policies.
  • Tax technology experience or savviness is an asset
  • As Mammoet communicates in English, proficiency (verbal and written) is essential.
