Tax Technology Manager | Amsterdam (Windsor, GB or Lausanne, CH)

Position

Tetra Laval International (‘’TLI’’) is the financial support and control function for the Board. This includes responsibility for areas such as the corporate governance framework, treasury, corporate finance, leasing, insurance, financial reporting, internal audit, holdings administration and Group Tax.

This is a new position at our office in Amsterdam and the person will have the global responsibility for the development and implementation of TLI’s Tax Technology roadmap. The person will report to the Director of Indirect Tax and work closely with the Group Tax Team to develop and execute the Group Tax Technology Strategy, with a focus on continuous improvement, automation, data availability and integration, Tax Authority digitalization, business integration and management of Tax Risk/internal controls. Other than the reporting line may suggest this role is not limited to the Indirect Tax Area. You will report to the Director of Indirect Tax, and you will be based in Amsterdam, NL but you can be based also in Windsor (UK) or Lausanne (CH). In Amsterdam the Tax Group consists of 6 Tax Professionals.

  • Supporting the Tax Team in the development and implementation of a Tax technology strategy and roadmap, as a fundamental enabler of the Group Tax strategy;
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement to deliver efficient and effective Tax controls and monitoring with the use of tools & technology;
  • Seek out opportunities within the Industry Groups to implement leading-edge data science Tax solutions, ensuring their fit into the overall IT environment; supporting the development of the business case for Tax technology initiatives, demonstrating value and ensuring prioritization and support from business stakeholders;
  • Responsible for ensuring Tax data is available, sensitized at source, and integrated end-to-end through business and Tax processes;
  • Responsible for identifying, defining, and documenting Tax data and/or process requirements and potential gaps;
  • Responsible for managing the Tax component in all relevant and impacting business system implementations;
  • Responsible for ensuring Tetra Laval group meets increasing Tax Authority digitalization requirements, such as e-Filing, e-Invoicing, e-Reporting, BEPS reporting and CbCR;
  • Support the organization hands-on in Tax technology and automation implementation projects;
  • Develop and help deliver training in Tax technology and process improvement for the wider Tax team and Industry groups.

Candidate

  • Excellent IT technical skills in relation to SAP (ECC/S4hana/Ariba/Concur/etc), RPA software, Programming, Data Analysis software, Tax reporting tools, and Tax engines/software;
  • Excellent in communication and engagement with a broad range of internal/external stakeholders, including developers, system architects, data scientists, business transformation, process and/or data owners as well as senior management;
  • Excellent in implementing, maintaining, and upgrading Tax technology software and products in complex global businesses;
  • Excellent understanding of the end-to-end data flow from source transaction to Tax filing;
  • Excellent analytical skills, and ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly with minimal support;
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written, oral, presentation);
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a wide range of stakeholders to translate concepts between the Tax and IT disciplines;
  • Excellent awareness of Taxes & Tax accounting;
  • Excellent awareness of global Tax Authority digitalization trends and changing requirements;
  • Demonstrates accountability, integrity, and innovation;
  • Business-oriented with a proven track record of partnering with the business to deliver improvements;
  • Agile, proactive, and able to work independently.

Experience

  • Relevant degree in business administration, computer science, or equivalent;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Tax technology strategies and or operations in an accounting firm, a consulting firm, or in a large global multi-national;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with leading-edge Tax technology systems/tools and related processes;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and continuous improvement, with relevant certification;
  • Experience of operating in matrix organization.

You will be directly responsible for managing various Tax technology and data science projects related to all Tax areas, applying your specialized knowledge, and supporting the wider Tax Team.
