Sharmila Mathoera has over 10 years of experience in international VAT Compliance. Before that she worked for 5 years in the expat practice. Sharmila started her career at Deloitte in 2006. A few years later Sharmila transferred within Deloitte to the VAT Compliance department. After this, she worked at various multinationals as a VAT Accountant, mostly with multinationals active in the petrochemical industry. Here she has developed herself as an all-round VAT Accountant. Sharmila prepares and files VAT Returns for various European Countries, reconciliation and intrastat returns. Sharmila has experience with data collection and user testing in SAP. She also has knowledge of other ERP systems. In 2021 she joined The Resource as VAT Technology and Compliance Manager. 

Sharmila specializes in VAT Compliance with a primary interest in improving the total VAT chain (processes and people).
