Senior Corporate Tax Manager | The Hague

Position

At the center of excellence based in The Hague the position has become vacant for a Senior Corporate Tax Manager. You will be a part of the Maersk Direct Tax Team and you will supporting the APM Terminals business. You will be advising primarily on various M&A transactions and guiding the development of new terminals across the globe from a tax perspective . But you will also be supporting the APM Terminals day-to-day tax issues.

 Your key responsibilities include amongst other:

  • Actively lead projects in collaboration with other functions.
  • Support and taking a leading role in M&A transactions.
  • Responsible for highly technical and complex tax strategies with a commercial mindset.
  • Provide technical tax analysis of various of business and financial transactions.
  • Support or lead integration of companies acquired by APM Terminals.
  • Manage various of restructuring projects.
  • Manage and communicate tax implications of various business changes; initiatives and investments as well as support with the implementation of the changes.
  • Support APM Terminals HQ Tax Lead with ROIC target and ETR management: from analyzing to become in control.
  • Support with transfer pricing.
  • Act as the tax business partner for the APM Terminals Headquarter functions.
  • Support with improving ROFO process and KPI input from tax.
  • Proactively assess and implement tax optimization or mitigation measures.

 

Candidate

 Maersk/APM Terminals is seeking a Senior Corporate Tax Manage who will take ownership and can independently handle various tax issues and challenges both when doing deals as well as on day-to-day tax issues. You are able to independently take decisions, take ownership while remaining relaxed as it concerns large numbers. This is a great opportunity to develop yourself as an in-house tax professional.

You have:

  • 9+ years of International Corporate Income Tax experience with an international company, law firm or Big4. M&A experience is essential and in-house experience is considered a strong plus.

  • University degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics, a Dutch tax education is a plus.
  • Experienced in navigating in a complex and international company with several stakeholders and a rapidly changing environment with tight deadlines.
  • Experience with project management will be an advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in restructuring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform critical analysis, prioritize and problem solve.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail but at the same time be able to take business decisions.
  • Fluent in English.
