Director Corporate Income Tax Compliance, Accounting & Reporting

Position

At the corporate head office in Amsterdam the position of Director Corporate Income Tax Compliance, Accounting & Reporting has become vacant. He/she reports to the Head of Tax and is part of the tax team consisting of some 20 people. He or she will be responsible for all corporate income tax compliance accounting & reporting and will be part of the Tax Management Team. The Director will manage a team of 3 Senior Tax Accounting and Compliance specialists. He/she is responsible for the consolidated corporate income tax accounting and reporting process under IFRS. This includes tax management reporting of the consolidated effective tax rate, tax provision, cash tax and tax losses. The responsibilities and tasks include:

 

  • Manage the corporate income tax accounting activities for the entities of ABN AMRO and on a consolidated level;
  • Manage and monitor the tax compliance proces of all relevant entities, ensure timely and correct filing of corporate income tax returns and provide support in ongoing tax audits;
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all IFRS tax accounting guidelines;
  • Manage tax accounting issues, connect with Tax authorities and/or the external auditor, create and implement solutions;
  • Update the ABN AMRO entities on relevant tax accounting changes in tax regulations, IFRS and review the completed tax schedules and other documents prepared by these entities;
  • Prepare and manage the tax information and schedules in the annual report and other external/internal reports, including the quarterly interim financial statements;
  • Manage, analyze and report changes and variances of ABN AMRO consolidated effective tax rates on a quarterly and annual basis. Prepare and analyze for senior management effective tax rate and cash tax scenario’s;
  • Represent Tax in the various ABN AMRO, Tax and operating companies closing meetings;
  • Oversee the Tax Reporting activities for ABN AMRO;
  • Contribute to the tax strategy and forthcoming tax policies thereby ensuring the most efficient tax result for ABN AMRO with a focus on accounting and reporting;
  • Advise and instruct other reporting groups on the financial statement impact associated with various tax laws and corporate planning strategies regarding accounting and reporting;
  • Manage a team of 3 Tax Accounting and Compliance specialists.

Candidate

The ideal candidate has a University degree in Tax Law or Tax economics with 10+ years of experience as a Tax Compliance, Accounting & Reporting Manager at a big4 and some years at a large multinational. You have strong understanding of IFRS accounting and of Tax risk management. You are highly structured, you have strong analytical and interpersonal skills and a hands-on attitude. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and some experience with Tax Automation is preferred. You can work well with deadlines, you have the ability to prioritize and you are a structured worker. Speaking English and Dutch fluently is a pre-requisite to be successful in the role.
